Search Continues for Missing Rock Springs Man

As of Saturday’s last report, the search for missing Rock Springs hunter, Terry Meador, continued. According to Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, 74-year-old Meador was reported missing by family members on Thursday, October 25th. He was believed to have gone hunting alone south of Rock Springs and deputies took up the investigation at about 1:00am on Friday.

Further Details on Duchesne County Semi Crash

The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office provided further details on a semi crash that happened on Antelope Road 5 miles south of Highway 40 on the afternoon of October 24th. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the crash was witnessed and called in by a bystander and when first responders first arrived, the driver was trapped inside the wreckage.

Shantell and Macoy Young were traveling near Heber last weekend when a driver in a stolen vehicle crossed into their lane and struck their vehicle nearly head on.

Uintah County 2018 Peak Tourism Season Report

The 2018 tourism season has wrapped up and Uintah County officials are declaring it a success. A warm winter and mix of events resulted in higher than expected visitation last spring, with an increase of over 20 percent from the year before, shares Uintah County Travel and Tourism Director Lesha Coltharp. Events included the 1st annual Dinah “Soar” Days, Dino Half Marathon, Numb Fest, as well as other conferences and tourists choosing Uintah County to celebrate Memorial Day weekend.

Production Director Carrie Chapman says the show has real depth and is a true thriller. “Wait Until Dark is a dark show both figuratively and literally,” shares Chapman. “We have con men searching for drugs and a blind woman who is trying to keep her wits about her through the danger.

The Vernal Christian Church Community Harvest Party is tonight with the trunk or treat, dinner, and activities starting at 6:30pm. The free community event is at the church on 1845 West 750 South in Vernal. The 22nd annual Great Jensen Pumpkin Festival is Saturday, October 27th with gates opening at 6:00pm.

Two Basin Accidents Involving Semis Reported in Two Days

Information is scarce but there have been two confirmed accidents involving semis in the Uintah Basin in as many days. The Duchesne Volunteer Fire Department shared that they responded to a semi truck accident 5 miles south of Highway 40 on Antelope Drive in Duchesne County on Wednesday, October 24th.

Utah’s Honey Bee Health Conference in Vernal Next Week
