‘Text to 911’ Option Now Available in Duchesne, Uintah, and Daggett Counties

‘CALL if you can. TEXT if you can’t.’ Uintah Basin Communications has announced that Duchesne, Uintah, and Daggett County residents can now text 9-1-1 for help in an emergency. The press announcement from the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office explains that speaking directly with a 9-1-1 dispatcher is still the best and fastest way to get help in an emergency or to report a crime in progress but for those times when you cannot call, texting is now an option.

Man Steals Vehicle in Duchesne County, Critically Injures Pregnant Woman and Husband in Crash Near Heber

A 22-year-old man driving a vehicle reported as stolen out of Duchesne County caused a crash on Saturday near Heber City that critically injured a pregnant woman and her husband. According to the Probable Cause Statement, the accident occurred on Highway 40 at milepost 31 when suspect Tyson Uresti crossed the center line crashing into an oncoming vehicle.

The Roosevelt Bulletin shares that John Mackey and Skyler Davies with the DEQ presented Roosevelt City with an award during their October 16th City Council meeting for their work on the West Cove Sewer Project in the Stonegate Subdivision.

Head-On Fatal Accident Near Duchesne

A head-on accident between a double tanker semi and a passenger car had a fatal ending on Highway 40 last week. According to a news release from the Department of Public Safety, a passenger car was traveling westbound just after 11pm on Thursday on Highway 40 at Mile Marker 80.5 while a double tanker semi was traveling eastbound in the same area.
