Steve Evans
President / Owner
Steve's broadcast career began in 1985. He has experience working in markets like Salt Lake City, Springfield MO, Albuquerque NM, Wichita KS, and St. George Utah. Since 1994 Steve has raised a family and lived in Vernal and is proud to call Northeastern Utah home. A Reagan Republican since 1980, Steve is a champion of conservative values both social and political. Holding firm to these values in business has been a philosophy that has served Evans Family Media and the communities it serves well.
Lisa Evans
Owner / Sales
Having spent nearly 20 years as a manager in the retail trade industry and 10 years in the restaurant and catering business, Lisa provides a wealth of information to local merchants seeking better ways to brand, merchandise, and market their products and services. Her positive and fun personality make working with her a delight. She is a mother, grandmother, and a hometown native of the Uintah Basin.
Sheri Remington
Sales Manager
With more than 25 years of experience in broadcast sales, Sheri Remington has helped businesses across a wide range of industries connect with their audiences through effective advertising. As Sales Manager, she specializes in developing customized marketing campaigns that are tailored to each client's goals and budget. Her industry knowledge, commitment to customer service, and results-driven approach make her a trusted partner for businesses looking to grow.
Matt Wilber
Operations Manager / Programs Director
Matt started in radio during his senior year of high school at KISN 97 in Salt Lake City, then 94.9 KZHT. After years in the SLC market and a six-year morning show run in St. George at STAR 98 FM, he now serves as Operations Manager for Evans Family Media. Matt has a passion for small-town radio and community involvement. You can hear him weekday mornings on 98.5 The Fox and afternoons on Eagle Country 105.5 KLCY.
Janet Crinklaw
Business Manager
Having retired after a career with the telephone company, Janet brings a myriad of experience to her position as office manager. Her organization skills, knowledge of software and accounting keep our business office running smooth and efficient. Having spent over 10 years in this position, Janet is the go-to person to find a solution to nearly any office or operational problem.
Barry Johnson
Production Manager
As Production Manager, Barry brings years of broadcast experience and a passion for creating high-quality audio production. While producing radio commercials he ensures every project is polished, professional, and impactful. His attention to detail, creativity, and technical expertise help bring ideas to life while delivering the highest quality sound for clients and listeners alike.
Makenzie Holbert
Sales / Social Media
Originally from the Salt Lake City area, Makenzie and her son recently settled in the Basin and have loved becoming part of such a friendly community. With more than 10 years in customer service and added experience in sales, she thrives in roles where she can engage with others — a perfect fit for the relationship-driven world of local media.
Kristin Forbis
News Reporter
Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU (BA English, 2005) and become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. She began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full-time mom and part-time writer.
Abigail Roberts
Traffic Coordinator
Abigail joined Evans Family Media in June of 2024. She has worked in accounts payable and receivable positions since 2015. She is a mother of four. Originally from Vernal, she has also lived in Alaska, Wyoming, and Colorado. Abigail loves the outdoors — camping, hiking, and paddle boarding — and is excited to build her career with Evans Family Media.
Colton Pead
On Air / Production / Website
Colton is a versatile member of the Evans Family Media team, playing an important role in the day-to-day operations of the stations. From managing broadcast logs to assisting on-air and running the popular Classifieds program, he keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes and in front of the microphone. Born and raised in Vernal, Colton is a proud Uintah High School graduate who enjoys serving the community he calls home.
Autumn Hancock
On Air Personality / Event Coordinator
Born and raised in the Uintah Basin. She loves this community and loves to work and serve here. She served as Miss Uintah County in 2000–01 and has always loved singing and entertaining in the community. After nearly a decade performing professionally in Nashville — including writing and recording her album Stronger Every Time — she returned home, married Beau Hancock, and built a family. The move into radio has been a natural transition.
Dave and Mindy Gale
On Air Personalities
Dave and Mindy Gale have been married for 23 years, have 4 kids, 1 dog, and a turtle. They’re proud to call Vernal home and are blessed to be able to use their talents to entertain…even if it’s just one another. Dave and Mindy are the personalities of The Fox morning show "Gabbing with the Gales".
Justin Taylor
On Air Personality
Originally from Iowa, Justin moved to Utah in high school and attended Murray High, where an internship sparked his love of radio. Over the past 25 years he has worked at stations across the country; Vernal is now home. When not on the air, catch him boating at Flaming Gorge, cooking on his smoker, or hanging out with his dog Oakley.
Mark Winterton
Sports Show / Ad Producer / On Air
Started in radio in 2011 at KNEU 1250, moving to B92 classic rock in 2012. His morning show aired for the remaining life of B92 until it changed to Jack FM in 2017. His Sports and Sorts show airs every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm.

We focus on bringing the community together through information, entertainment, and engagement.
The region's information powerhouse. With a full-time local news director and local correspondents, KVEL provides the region's only daily source of local and regional news, plus community features, talk, and local high school sports play-by-play. Primary audience: adults 35+.
The Basin's Best Music — a popular blend of well-researched adult contemporary hits from three generations, with live and local personalities. 98.5 The Fox is the Basin's "at work" station that everyone can agree on. Primary audience: adults 25–49.
Northeastern Utah's heritage FM country station. Locally owned, programmed, and managed — mainstream country with live local personalities, news, and events. Primary audience: adults 25–49.
Playing What We Want — classic hits and variety rock without the rules. 92.5 Jack FM keeps the Basin's airwaves fun, free-form, and full of the songs people actually want to hear. Primary audience: adults 25–54.
Hank FM 93.5 and KNEU 1250 AM deliver classic country and local flavor for Northeastern Utah. A longtime Basin station with roots in the community — music, features, and local connection. Primary audience: adults 35+.

We know you need information you can trust, and you don't have time to hunt for it. Our job is to put all the important facts you need right here, in a format that doesn't try to tell you what to think.
We'd like to see a world where everyone unites and connects with each other through love and harmony. Our way of working toward that world is providing unbiased information and opportunities for inclusive community events and then allowing our audience to use their knowledge and wisdom to unite with one another in meaningful ways.
