Uintah Basin Healthcare continues to excel in care in the Basin by being the recipient of the HealthInsight Quality Award. This award was launched in September 2004 to promote transparency in healthcare. The Institute of Medicine defines a transparent health care system as “accountable to the public, works openly, makes results known, and builds trust through disclosure.” The award is a composite ranking of performance on quality measures reported on Medicare’s Hospital Compare website. To qualify for the award the hospital must rank in the top 25th percentile. “Uintah Basin Healthcare is currently ranked #1 in Utah on the National Hospital Rankings Chart through Health Insights for overall rankings which includes the patient experience, healthcare-associated infections, re-admissions and mortality rates,” shares Roger Burton, VP of Quality for Uintah Basin Healthcare. “We are humbled and honored to be in this position and will continue to strive to exceed expectations to provide our community with the best service possible.”
