As of Sunday morning’s report, the search for missing Rock Springs hunter, Terry Meador, continues. According to Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, 74-year-old Meador was reported missing by family members on Thursday, October 25th. He was believed to have gone hunting alone south of Rock Springs and deputies took up the investigation at about 1:00am on Friday. A family friend had located Meador’s unoccupied pickup badly stuck north of Pine Mountain about 35 miles south of Rock Springs. Deputies and search and rescue volunteers began search efforts on Friday which continued into Sunday with ground units and a helicopter volunteered by University of Utah Air Med. On Saturday, Sheriff Mike Lowell asked that no one fly privately owned drones in the area. “We’ve had a good number of inquiries and offers of help from drone owners, and we very much appreciate them, but a helicopter is part of the search effort now and the presence of drones in the search area would create an extremely dangerous situation for the air crew,” shares Lowell. Anyone that has encountered Meador are asked to contact the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office.
