The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office provided further details on a semi crash that happened on Antelope Road 5 miles south of Highway 40 on the afternoon of October 24th. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the crash was witnessed and called in by a bystander and when first responders first arrived, the driver was trapped inside the wreckage. The driver of the tractor-trailer truck was a 56-year-old Vernal man. A medical helicopter was placed on standby but once the man was extricated from the wreckage, it was cancelled as his injuries appeared to be minor. The man was taken to Uintah Basin Medical Center for evaluation. “Based on evidence at the scene,” shares the Sheriff’s Office, “deputies believe the man was hauling a top-heavy load and took a corner too fast, causing his vehicle to overturn and crash.”
