Yesterday’s report that the Utah Symphony is making Red Fleet State Park its final stop of their ‘Great American Road Trip’ this summer was incorrect, though a star party will be held at Red Fleet in conjunction with the concert event.

Lights Discussion on Main and Aggie Blvd Continues

Uintah County and Vernal City officials continued their discussion of the lights along Main Street and Aggie Blvd during the city/county meeting on Monday. The county and city began to experiment with the lights in March with several different configurations to see what each looked like and if enough light was distributed.

Daggett County Sheriff Resigns

Daggett County Sheriff Jerry R. Jorgensen has resigned, citing a desire to help the County move forward in the process with the Utah Department of Corrections to return inmates to the Daggett County Jail. A press release from the Daggett County Sheriff’s Office states that Sheriff Jorgensen resigned Sunday, April 23rd.

Uintah County Joins UAC Group to Handle Centrally Assessed Tax Appeals

Uintah County Commissioners will be utilizing a new service offered through the Utah Association of Counties (UAC) aimed at helping counties manage appeals to Centrally Assessed Taxes. County Services Support, Inc. is a 501-C4 corporation that will cost the county $2000 dollars annually in exchange for resources and support as counties have companies appeal their centrally assessed taxes.
