Uintah County Joins UAC Group to Handle Centrally Assessed Tax Appeals

Uintah County Commissioners will be utilizing a new service offered through the Utah Association of Counties (UAC) aimed at helping counties manage appeals to Centrally Assessed Taxes. County Services Support, Inc. is a 501-C4 corporation that will cost the county $2000 dollars annually in exchange for resources and support as counties have companies appeal their centrally assessed taxes. Clerk Auditor Mike Wilkins highly recommended the Commissioners accept this service and referenced the recent Anadarko appeal as an example. Uintah County has a Centrally Assessed value of $3.2 billion dollars, down from $4.3 billion dollars, and is second only to Salt Lake County in the state for Centrally Assessed values. The Commissioners agreed it was well worth joining the group to have extra support as they will certainly continue to face appeals by big companies on their Centrally Assessed values.
