Basin Unemployment Continues to Tick Down

Unemployment numbers in Basin counties are continuing their downward trend. The Department of Workforce Services released the updated numbers this week. Daggett County made a slight shift down from 4 to 3.9 percent unemployment. Duchesne County fell from 6.6 to 6.3 percent unemployment, a full 3.5 percent drop from one year ago. Uintah County ticked down from 6.9 to 6.6 percent unemployment, a 3.3 percent drop from a year ago at this time. State unemployment remained the same at 3.1 percent while national unemployment lowered from 4.7 to 4.5 percent. The largest private sector employment increases in the state were in Trade, Transportation and Utilities as well as Professional and Business Services.
