Immunizing infants and children has been a hot topic for at least the last decade and TriCounty Health Department is making their pro-vaccination message crystal clear. According to TriCounty Health Nursing Director Nicole Smith, the Basin area has a pretty good immunization rate at 70 percent.

Duchesne County Truck Thefts Warrants Warning
Locals are being urged to secure their vehicles and be on the lookout for thieves. In March, Duchesne County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to reports of a 2006 Beige Ford F350 pickup truck being stolen. Eventually, a call came in of an accident in the Sandwash Reservoir in which the thief had either rolled or driven the F350 truck into the reservoir.

Tourism to Dinosaur National Monument created over $20 million dollars in local economic benefits in 2016. According to a new National Park Service report, the Monument had 304,312 visitors last year that spent $18,084,200 dollars in communities near the park, supporting 244 local jobs and creating a total cumulative benefit to the local economy of $20,457,600 dollars.

Lights Discussion on Main and Aggie Blvd Continues
Uintah County and Vernal City officials continued their discussion of the lights along Main Street and Aggie Blvd during the city/county meeting on Monday. The county and city began to experiment with the lights in March with several different configurations to see what each looked like and if enough light was distributed.
