Locals are being urged to secure their vehicles and be on the lookout for thieves. In March, Duchesne County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to reports of a 2006 Beige Ford F350 pickup truck being stolen. Eventually, a call came in of an accident in the Sandwash Reservoir in which the thief had either rolled or driven the F350 truck into the reservoir. Another case of theft occurred last week in the Altamont area. The truck was recovered and a juvenile was arrested. “Our office is asking residents to be vigilant around their neighborhoods,” shared the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office. “Keep an eye out for any suspicious activity and report it as soon as possible. With the increasing amount of thefts and burglary complaints coming in, make sure all your doors are locked and never leave your keys in your vehicles.” Anyone with information on thefts are asked to call the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office at 435-738-2015 or if you wish to remain anonymous, call the tip line at 435-738-0196.
