Uintah Basin Healthcare scored a perfect 100 on their Energy Star certification for the Uintah Basin Medical Center. By earning the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® certification, UBMC is continuing a legacy of energy efficiency and savings. The certification verifies that the building performs in the top 25 percent of buildings across the nation. On average such certified buildings use 35 percent less energy, cause 35 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions, and are less expensive to operate. Jim Marshall, Uintah Basin Healthcare President & CEO states, “UBH has an ENERGY STAR score of 100/100 which means we outperform all similar buildings nationwide. We’re honored to earn the ENERGY STAR for superior energy performance at UBMC and appreciate the efforts of our dedicated staff and their involvement in an efficient operation. Saving energy is just one of the ways we show our community we care, and that we’re committed to doing our part to protect the environment and public health, both today and for future generations.” UBMC would like to thank the Engineering Department for their dedication to energy efficiency and making such an award possible.
