A suspicious looking object on the side of I-80 caused serious concern on Tuesday in Sweetwater County. According to the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, bomb technicians were called in when an object, suspected to be a pressure cooker bomb, was spotted on the ground at a truck parking area 35 miles east of Rock Springs.
A case of domestic violence in Vernal has one man facing six charges including one count of rape. According to the Vernal Police Probable Cause statement, 27-year-old Zachary David Perrin was arrested on August 17th as he tried to flee from the Basin but was stopped in Duchesne County and brought into custody.

Uintah County Commissioners are considering a security contract for the Sheriff’s Office with Simplot mine. A proposal from Simplot mine was presented during Monday’s Commission meeting that would contract with the Sheriff’s Office to patrol the company’s fence lines during the general elk and deer seasons.
