The Sub For Seniors program has a record number of local senior citizens in need this year that they hope to spread Christmas cheer to but they need the community’s help. The Sub For Seniors program in Uintah County started in 2015 and delivered Christmas gift bags to 92 local seniors.

Public Meetings This Week for Uinta Basin Railway; Draft EIS Comments Open
The public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Study or EIS for the proposed Uinta Basin Railway is in its final few weeks and the final three public meetings are being held virtually this week. Comments have been welcomed and encouraged as the information provided will be considered and reviewed by the Surface Transportation Board as they analyze the project and whether or not the railway will have a future.

Enchanted Forest A Heartwarming Success
This year’s Enchanted Forest may have had a few changes to accommodate social distancing requirements but the wonderful feeling of kicking off the Christmas season was the same. Colorado voters passed Proposition #114 – The Restoration of Gray Wolves which aims to reintroduce gray wolves west of the Continental Divide. Colorado Parks and Wildlife shares that ‘the passage of Proposition 114 has led to increased interest in wolves in Colorado, specifically, the wolf pack previously confirmed to be present in Moffat County.

TriCounty Health Department Local COVID-19 Update; Vaccine Information
TriCounty Health Department provided an update on Tuesday concerning the steady increase of local cases of COVID-19. Sadly, there has been one new death in Duchesne County, for a total of five COVID-19 related deaths in the tri-county area.
Information Being Sought in Moffat County Poaching Incident
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking information about seven elk that were recently shot and left about 20 miles north of Craig. According to a press release, a concerned citizen contacted wildlife officers on November 22nd and it was believed the incident occurred on November 20th.
