Public Meetings This Week for Uinta Basin Railway; Draft EIS Comments Open

 The public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Study or EIS for the proposed Uinta Basin Railway is in its final few weeks and the final three public meetings are being held virtually this week. Comments have been welcomed and encouraged as the information provided will be considered and reviewed by the Surface Transportation Board as they analyze the project and whether or not the railway will have a future. This week, starting tonight, is the final three public meetings and all are being held digitally through Zoom. The meeting tonight will be from 6 to 8pm. The Tuesday meeting will be from 2 to 4pm and the Thursday meeting will be held 6 to 8pm. All the options for making your voice heard are explained on the EIS website. For those that have struggled with how to submit a comment, visit www.uintabasinrailwayeis.com. Halfway down the Home Page there is a link that says ‘Click here to view the Draft EIS’. Below that is a link that says ‘Click here for information on how to comment on the Draft EIS’. If you click that link it will take you to the Public Involvement page and look for the link where it says ‘To submit comments electronically click here.’  Now you’ve reached the Comment Form. Under the Instructions is an area to fill in name and contact information before writing out a comment to submit. After writing the comment scroll to the bottom and click Continue. It will then take you to a page to review your comment and contact information before scrolling to the bottom and clicking Submit.
