Missing 7-Year-Old Found Safe After Overnight Search

Thankfully it was a happy ending after a child went missing in Uintah County on Friday evening. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched on May 27th to a missing seven year-old boy in the area of Dyer Park, approximately 25 miles north of Vernal.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash

A motorcycle ride ended tragically on Highway 191 south of Duchesne County last week. According to the Utah Highway Patrol report, three motorcycles were traveling north on Highway 191 nearing the 258 Mile Marker on Thursday, May 26th at approximately 5:00pm.

Safety Alert For Green River; Please Use Caution Around And On River

A safety alert has been issued for the Green River due to the water being released from Flaming Gorge Dam at full bypass capacity. While the releases have increased as part of the plan to send water on to Lake Powell, the Bureau of Reclamation shares that the switch to full bypass capacity is due to the presence of larval razorback suckers which prompted the Larval Trigger Study Plan.

The UFO Disclosure Symposium was a great success over the weekend. The event started at the Blind Frog Ranch Outpost on Friday, kicking off with a special space balloon launch with retired Lt. Colonel Chris Lheto.

Eagle View Elementary Hosts Powwow Celebration

Eagle View Elementary finished the school year with a very special celebration. The staff, students, and community members held a mini powwow with the help of the Red Spirit Singers. The powwow included the Grand Entry, an Intertribal Dance, a Round Dance, and a Bear Dance. Uintah School District offered their thanks to all who came together to make the powwow possible.

Raffle For 8-Year-Old Vernal Boy After Playground Accident

A fun time on the playground took a terrible turn for an 8-year-old Vernal boy this spring and the community is rallying to help. A fall from a set of monkey bars in April caused the unimaginable for Treyson Johnson. He suffered 2 strokes and was life flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake where, 6 weeks later, he still remains.

Memorial Day Services In Vernal And Roosevelt

The community is invited to attend local Memorial Day Services. The American Legion in Vernal is hosting a Memorial Day presentation at the war memorials in front of the Uintah County building on Highway 40 on Monday at noon. All are welcome and encouraged to attend this special ceremony.
