Vernal’s Western Park Ice Rink was stop number 4 out of 7 stops across the state for Mammoth hockey week where local fans got to have fun with hockey activities and photo opportunities last night. Mammoths Radio Host Adrian Denny says making Vernal a stop on the tour was an obvious choice. “Coming out here is really exciting because it has been a hockey community for years,” shares Denny. “They have had their rink for years. They’ve had their youth association for years. It’s been a spot that the enthusiasm has been there and now the Oilers have come and won the last 2 championships. It’s a community that loves hockey so it’s great to be able to come out here for the first time as part of Mammoth week and meet the community and bring the mammoth van.” Denny also emphasized that they know there is a number of people from the Uintah Basin that come down to watch Mammoth games so for them to be able to come out and connect with Uintah Basin fans after all the support that they give the Mammoths cheering them on in person or from home on TV is just really, really fun. Mammoth Week ends on September 5th with a big celebration at the Utah Mammoth Ice Center in Sandy.
