Update on Road Conditions at Dinosaur National Monument

Dinosaur National Monument has provided an update on road conditions throughout the park. Access to the Quarry Exhibit Hall is open and cleared. The paved section of Cub Creek Road on the Utah side is also plowed. Harpers Corner Road is opened to the junction with Echo Park Road but is snow covered. To explore the Colorado side of the monument drivers will need to use caution, chains and all wheel drive. That is true of Deerlodge Park and Gates of Lodore. The unpaved roads of Yampa Bench and Echo Park Roads should only be travelled by experienced winter drivers with the proper equipment. The last two unpaved miles of Cub Creek Road are closed to vehicles but open to hikers. The unpaved road into Rainbow Park and Island Park remains snow covered. A friendly reminder to anyone driving in winter conditions, be sure to bring extra warm clothes, good snacks and water because it is always a possibility to get stuck.
