A talented young fisherman has done it again! Tyler Grimshaw of Vernal was just 10 years old last June when he made headlines all over the country after reeling in a 41-pound lake trout while fishing Flaming Gorge with his dad. Well now, 6 months later and at 11 years old, Tyler is the envy of anglers near and far after catching and releasing an even bigger lake trout! The Division of Wildlife Resources shared on Monday that Tyler reeled in a 48-pound lake trout over the weekend once again all by himself from Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Of course pictures were taken before the massive fish was released back into the lake. The Grimshaw family practices avid catch and release when it comes to trophy lake trout and Tyler has even been allowed to help the DWR with net pulls and fish transplants to learn about preserving the Flaming Gorge fishery. Success has continued to snowball for Tyler as he has garnered attention on news outlets all over Utah and beyond. Way to go Tyler Grimshaw and thank you for representing the Uintah Basin so well!
