Uintah High English Teacher Receives Excellence In Education Award

A Uintah High School English teacher has been selected as an Excellence in Education award winner by the Utah Education Association. Uintah School District shares that Amanda Muffler is the 10th grade English team lead at Uintah High School who has “implemented an innovative intervention system that resulted in accelerated student growth” and which has been implemented by other Uintah High departments. Muffler has also worked with the Utah Teacher Fellows program and had a featured contribution in Education Week called ‘5 Small Classroom Changes for Big Rewards’. Uintah County Education Association President Aaryn Birchell nominated Amanda Muffler and shares that “she possesses a rare ability to connect authentically with young people, creating classrooms rooted in belonging and dignity.” Amanda Muffler will be recognized at the UEA Banterra Bank Superstars in Education Awards Banquet on September 11 in Sandy.
