Zane Fire Burning In Remote Area Of Uintah County

A new wildfire is burning in Uintah County in a remote area of the Book Cliffs. Utah Fire Info shared that the Zane Fire was discovered on Wednesday afternoon on McCook Ridge burning on Bureau of Land Management land. The wildfire was estimated to be around 10 acres in size as of Wednesday evening and the cause was listed as undetermined. “Resources responding to the fire include an Air Attack platform, 2 Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs), 8 Smokejumpers and 3 engines from both the Forest Service and the United States Wildland Fire Service,” shares Utah Fire Info. “While this fire is very remote, smoke has been visible from Highway 40 to the north and as far east as Grand Junction.”
