Uintah County Treasurer Retiring After 30 Years Of Service With County

After 3 decades of service, Uintah County Treasurer Wendi Long has announced her retirement. Long began working for Uintah County in 1996 when she was hired as a deputy treasurer by Donna Richens, the County Treasurer at the time. For 10 years she worked in that position until Richens’ retirement in 2006. Long ran for the position of County Treasurer at that time and has served as Uintah County Treasurer ever since, for 20 years and across 5 terms. Long recently announced her retirement in a letter to the Uintah County Commissioners. Her letter reads in part: “Serving the residents of Uintah County has been the honor of my professional life. Having spent more than 30 years with the Treasurer’s Department, including the past 20 years as your elected Treasurer, I take immense pride in this work. My priority has always been to ensure transparency, honesty, integrity, and efficiency in the management of county funds, and I am grateful for the trust placed in me to uphold these standards. The success of this office is the collective effort of my dedicated staff and the support of many colleagues. I want to express my deepest appreciation to my colleagues, past and present, for their hard work, commitment, and partnership. I will treasure the friendships I have made along the way. I am also deeply thankful to the citizens of Uintah County for their continued support and for allowing me the privilege of serving this community for so many years." The Uintah County Republican Party is now accepting applications to fill the vacancy of Uintah County Treasurer. Applications should be submitted to Uintah County Republican Party Chairman Kason Goodrich at kwgoodrich@gmail.com.
