Uintah County Launches Video Introducing ‘Balance Utah’ Pilot Program

A concept developed by local leaders has begun its introduction to the masses with a new video shared online by Uintah County. The concept is relatively simple: Balance Utah would allow people to commute by plane to Salt Lake City for work, while still living in the Uintah Basin. The video explains that this pilot program has come at the right time with Utah’s record breaking growth and more workers needed on the Wasatch Front. The video states that the program would take 100 cars off the roads, twice a day and it is a move in the right direction for more jobs, less traffic, cleaner air, and affordable housing in the state of Utah. Uintah County Commissioner Bart Haslem developed the idea for Balance Utah and, in speaking with Evans Family Media, has explained that in addition to giving Basin residents an option they previously did not have, the Balance Utah effort could also be advertised to those already living on the Wasatch Front to consider relocating to Uintah County where housing is affordable with the option of commuting to their job in the city. The video introducing Balance Utah is available to view on the Uintah County Facebook page:
