The Uintah County Commission approved their spring clean up resolution during Monday’s Commission meeting. The resolution waves the fees for dumping at the landfill from April 21st through the 28th. The Commission emphasized that this only addresses non-commercial loads and all commercial dumpsters will continue to pay. The resolution emphasizes that the County has an interest in maintaining a clean, orderly appearance, assuring high quality of life and attracting visitors and tourists to the area and that waving fees is meant to incentivize and encourage county residents to clean up residential areas and public lands. Refrigerators will cost $20 dollars because the landfill has to pay for the removal of Freon. The Duchesne County free dump week is also April 21st through the 28th. All loads must be tarped. Hazardous waste will not be permitted and commercial garbage will be charged at regular rate.
