The Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office authorized development of the Big 33 Oil Wells. This is part of three Applications for Permit to Drill by Uinta Wax Operating LLC to drill oil wells from existing leases. The Environmental Assessment analyzed non-surface effects from construction of the well pad and associated infrastructure on private surface. The project location is approximately 9.5 miles southeast of Myton in Uintah County. The BLM also approved six new oil wells for the Moonshadow East project for applicant Uinta Wax Operating LLC. The project location is approximately 4.3 linear miles southeast of Roosevelt in Uintah County.
