A man has been charged with felony DUI and reckless driving for events that include allegedly driving around the bleachers of the Uintah High School football field on May 1st, nearly hitting people, and hitting a fence before driving away. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the truck had fled the scene but an officer spoke with witnesses and obtained security camera footage showing the truck enter the fenced off area, nearly hit a person, hit fences in multiple locations, drive on grass, drive over the long jump track, and leave the scene. Later that night, the officer received a tip that the truck had come back to the school a second time and a location of where the truck had gone afterwards was given but officers could not positively identify the truck at that time. On Saturday, May 2nd, police were informed of a new report of an individual who had been huffing while driving. During that investigation, a Uintah County Deputy recognized that vehicle as the same one in the security camera footage. On Sunday, May 3rd, the officer was notified of a crash involving the potential suspect, 30-year-old Jadyn Bartlett. He had crashed into someone’s property, causing damage. The officer spent time following up with witnesses of the series of events. One of the people was a maintenance employee of the high school who estimated the damage caused on May 1st at approximately $4,000. On Friday, May 8th, the officer traveled to Bartlett’s home to interview him. After arriving at the residence a second time, the officer observed a white truck with the engine running and the driver door open. The officer could see a single occupant slumped forward in the driver’s seat with a can of air duster in his hand. After getting his attention, the officer noted that Bartlett had bloodshot eyes and was slow in his speech. The officer interviewed Bartlett about the events at the high school and Bartlett confirmed that he had been the one driving. Jadyn F. Bartlett was placed under arrest and consented to a blood test. He was booked into the Uintah County Jail for DUI with prior felony DUI conviction, reckless driving, failure to comply with duties at a vehicle accident with property damage, and abuse of a psychotoxic chemical solvent.
