Two Public Meetings Left On Alternate Form Of Government In Uintah County

There are just two more public meetings left focused on the proposed change of government in Uintah County and tomorrow’s meeting is being held at the Tridell Fire Station at 7pm. A group of local citizens going by ‘Citizens For Change’ gathered signatures for their petition proposing that an alternate form of county government in Uintah County be placed on the November ballot. Having gathered enough signatures, the petition was certified and now the County is fulfilling the requirement to host 4 public meetings. The proposed change in government is from a 3 full-time member Commission to a 5 part-time member Council along with the hiring of a county manager. The Council members would serve 4-year terms and be elected from single-member districts, the recommendation being to use the same district boundaries as the Uintah School District. Bring your comments and questions to share at the August 13th meeting in Tridell at 7pm or to the final public meeting on August 17th at 7pm in the Uintah County Commission Chambers.
