An arrest for allegedly trafficking Fentanyl was made in Duchesne County this month. On May 12th, officers working as Agents on the Uintah Basin Narcotics Strike Force conducted a traffic stop on a White Ford SUV due to the vehicle drifting within and outside its lane and making abrupt corrective movements. The stop was conducted at 333 West Highway 40 in Roosevelt. When the driver, identified as Jerry Rich, was informed of the reason for the stop, he said he was unable to see the lines and that he was night blind. A K9 called in indicated for the odor of illegal narcotics on the passenger side of the vehicle. A purse in the vehicle contained a black zipper pouch with 10 baggies of 100 blue fentanyl pills per bag, other containers with fentanyl pills, suboxone strips, a plastic baggie containing methamphetamine, marijuana, Oxycodone mix pills, glass pipes with residue, $583 in cash with a note giving three names with dollar amounts, tinfoil with burn residue, melted plastic straws, and a digital scale. 62-year-old Jerry Coulson Rich was arrested and is charged with 1st Degree Felony Trafficking Fentanyl, among other charges. Rich is ordered to be held without bail.
