Prison Time for Craig Man in Meth Cases

by | Mar 28, 2018 | News | 0 comments

A Craig man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for distribution of methamphetamine. 51-year-old Melvin Newton was arrested on separate occasions in Routt and Moffat County in possession of methamphetamine. He reportedly told police in Moffat County that business in dealing meth had “been really good.” District Attorney Alexandra Jennings has called Newton a predatory force in Northwest Colorado and that his long sentence of 22 years is appropriate and will send a message to others who plan to distribute drugs in western Colorado.
