Principal’s Pantry to Fill Bellies Over Spring Break and Beyond

To Roosevelt Junior High Principal Mike Ross it isn’t enough to send students home full of just knowledge. Principal Ross also wants to be sure that students have a full belly. Some students can only rely on the meals they receive at school for breakfast and lunch. The idea behind the Principal’s Pantry is to send food home with these students for over the weekends and on long school holidays. With spring break approaching a call went out to the community for donations to the Principal’s Pantry for about 30 students identified as needing supplemental food for spring break. Donations poured in from students, their families, and the community at large. Roosevelt City is among those supporting this cause and delivered their own donation via firetruck this week. Principal Ross has reported that the school has received enough donations from the community to last through the end of the school year.
