Jesse Toftum started singing in Junior High and enjoyed being part of choir and Hi-Lites with Mr. Merriweather and performing for All-State and Honors Choir, Showtime Uintah, and theatre productions including several with Outlaw Trail Theater.
Local agencies are remembering a fallen officer on the anniversary of his passing. On July 30th, 1994 Utah Highway Patrol officer Sergeant Doyle R. Thorne lost his life serving the community.

The Utah Coronavirus Task Force is offering information to help business owners know what to do if an employee is exposed or tests positive for COVID-19. The Task Force shares that any employee should NOT come to work if they have had close contact with someone who gets sick or tests positive. Even if the employee is not feeling sick they should self quarantine for 14 days and monitor for symptoms. The health department will reach out to the employee with further instructions. Note that even if the employee tests negative for the virus they must finish the FULL 14-day quarantine.

Sentencing is scheduled this week for a Duchesne County woman who entered a Guilty Plea to 1st Degree Felony Child Abuse Homicide in the 2018 death of her 2-year-old foster child. Lisa Jo Vanderlinden changed her plea to Guilty ahead of her scheduled jury trial in March.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 continue to tick up in the TriCounty Health District with the greatest increase in Duchesne County. The Sunday COVID-19 Situational Update on www.tricountyhealth.com shows that the total of confirmed cases to date for the entire TriCounty Health District is 133.
