Zentangle appears to be a complicated form of doodling but under the wing of instructor Melinda Barlow, beginner students are creating their own intricate creations during their first class.

It’s going to be a record year for chukar hunting with the Division of Wildlife Resources reporting a booming chukar population in Utah. Upland Game Coordinator Jason Robinson says this year biologists found 95 chukars per square mile surveyed.
Work is underway on the Storage Tank Emissions Pilot Project, known as STEPP, in the Uintah Basin. The 2016 Utah Legislature’s budget included a $150,000 appropriation for the Utah Department of Environmental Quality(DEQ) to create a pilot program that would visit oil and gas sites to screen for leaks primarily from oil and gas-condensate storage tanks.
After a survey process, months of preparation and careful consideration, Naples is officially rebranded. City Manager Joshua Bake presented to the Naples City Council on Thursday night where the new logo was unveiled.
A man who fled from police in a stolen vehicle and was eventually caught near Rangely was arrested on multiple charges last week. 22-year-old David Morgan was traveling between Meeker and Rangely when a Sheriff’s officer spotted him in a pickup which matched the description of a stolen vehicle.

Basin residents have big hearts but there is room for improvement as far as travel safety is concerned. According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Kellie Oaks, Uintah Basin troopers have stopped over 1900 seatbelt violators so far this year.
The Division of Wildlife Resources is hosting a free bird hunting clinic in Vernal this week. The clinic is in preparation for the youth waterfowl hunt scheduled for the next day on September 17th.
