Roosevelt Police Chief on “Pink” and Other Synthetic Drugs

After the fatal overdose of two Park City teens and the nonfatal drug overdose of another Park City teen this week, the entire Utah community wants to know what can be done to keep teens safe from drugs such as “pink” or “pinky”. That task is difficult because the drug is so new it is not yet illegal to purchase.

Woolstenhulme Selected as UCAT Commissioner

A former President of the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College has been selected as Utah’s first Commissioner of Technical Education. The Utah College of Applied Technology made the announcement Thursday that Dr. David R. Woolstenhulme was selected following the quarterly meeting of the UCAT Board of Trustees.

Benefit Car Wash

A Benefit Car Wash is being held Saturday, September 24th at Morts Car Wash, 50 S 1000 W in Vernal. For every automatic car wash purchased, Mort’s will donate $1 to local emergency services for much needed Automated External Defibrillators. These devices are expensive and are desperately needed. Emergency team members will be handing out treats and accepting donations from 10am to 12pm.

Moffat County Man Injured by Tractor

A Moffat County man has been hospitalized for serious injuries after being run over by a tractor on Tuesday night. The incident took place on a farm about 6 miles northwest of Craig and a representative from the Craig Fire Department confirmed that the man was injured while using the tractor.

Rock Springs Meth Dealer Arrested

The region is hopefully a little safer since the arrest of a major meth dealer in Rock Springs. According to the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old John W. Samsel was arrested during a traffic stop during an undercover drug operation.

Uintah County Sheriff’s Office Issues Drug Warning for Parents

Warnings continue to ring out across the state after the tragic death of two 13-year-old Summit County boys who died within 48 hours of each others. While officials have not confirmed whether a new synthetic drug known as “pink” or “pinky” was the cause of death, the news came out the same day as warnings from the Park City Police Department and the School District alerting parents to the drug.
