Naples City Report Made At Vernal Chamber Meeting

Several reports were made during Tuesday’s Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Naples City Manager Mike Davis gave a report on successful events and current projects currently focused on. The Naples City ‘Meet The Machines’ event was a success last spring. What made it especially worthwhile was the enthusiasm and participation of Naples area businesses that brought their large equipment for local kids to climb on and enjoy up close. This was the first year for the event and Davis said it will definitely continue in the future. A few projects focused on in Naples City have been the installation of street lights on 1900 South and the new pickleball courts that have already been enjoyed by many. Davis also noted construction work on 2500 South and another project on 2000 East. The 2500 South project is funded through an approximate $2.2 million dollar CIB grant and $970,000 loan. The 2000 East project is funded through UDOT with $1.5 million dollars and Naples City funds of $250,000.
