A man arrested for DUI over the weekend in Uintah County was found to have over 7 times the legal limit of alcohol in his system and admitted to drinking about half a gallon of whiskey before getting behind the wheel. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, a vehicle approached an officer’s patrol vehicle from behind at a high rate of speed before passing the officer. The vehicle was over correcting and veering back into the lane of travel and a traffic stop was initiated. The officer made contact with 33-year-old Marty Brian Burr who was found to have an alcohol restriction on his driver’s license. After failing field sobriety testing, Burr was arrested for DUI. It was at the hospital that he admitted to drinking half a gallon of whiskey and that he measured 7 times over the legal limit at .351. Burr had at least 2 prior DUI convictions in the last 10 years.
