Utah Senator Mike Lee gave a radio interview on Newstalk 104.5 FM KVEL discussing a range of topics this week. When asked about the Uinta Railway project under review by the Supreme Court, Senator Lee said there should be a decision soon and that he is optimistic the decision will be a favorable one to move forward with the project. The Save Act was also discussed with Senator Lee explaining that it simply states that non-citizens should not be able to vote in U.S. elections and voting should require proof of citizenship. Among a variety of other national topics, Senator Lee also spoke specifically about the Uintah Basin. He said he continues to believe that the Uintah Basin is the future of Utah in many respects, as an energy player and economic powerhouse. “I believe we’re on the cusp of some very big developments,” shared Lee, “particularly with the regulatory and permitting reform we are working on in the Senate and in Washington generally. I think we are on the cusp of very good times for the Uintah Basin,” he continued, “and I look forward to seeing it live up to its energy production potential.” Listen to the entire interview with Senator Lee by visiting www.BasinNow.com and clicking on Public Affairs under the Community tab.
