The Utah Governor’s Office of Energy Development is part of an effort aimed at promoting natural gas in northeastern Utah and western Colorado. With support from Colorado and Utah agencies, Colorado Mesa University is working on a report that explores the combined potential of natural gas in western Colorado and northeastern Utah’s Uintah Basin. The report will also explore marketing, uses, and possible obstacles. The Daily Sentinel reports that the collaboration between states is intended to pursue economic opportunities provided by world-class natural gas assets to achieve goals such as boosting rural economies and domestic energy security.
