Plans are in place to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as dinosaurs. All that is left is ensuring that costume clad locals get to the Downtown Lamplighter Block in Vernal on August 28th at 5:30pm with the count taking place at 6:00pm. While there were more than enough dinosaur costume wearing participants to secure the record last year, the attempt fell short due to technicalities during the official counting process. The current Guinness World Record is 682 dinosaurs and the goal is to have over 1000 participants dressed as dinosaurs in downtown Vernal. Wear your dinosaur costume upon arrival to the counting area. Bring some water and snacks and get ready to make history. Uintah Special Service District 1 shares that things will go much faster and smoother this year. Those that register ahead of time will get a free t-shirt. Also know that you can stop by the Uintah Community Center(rec center) to borrow a dinosaur costume.
