The time has almost arrived for the fall burn window in Duchesne County. The Duchesne County fall burn window is October 1st through the 31st. No household refuse can be burned and remember that burn barrels are illegal. The fire must be in a clean area and away from any structures, trees, or anything that may catch fire. Never burn under or near power poles, power lines, or other utilities. Always keep a good water source on hand and watch the fire at all times. Remember that you, the property owner, will be liable for fire damage. Fires must be out by dusk. In fact, burning early in the day is considered safer by avoiding burning in windy conditions. A burn permit is required and can be attained by calling the Fire Warden at 435-781-4741. All controlled burns must also be reported ahead of time to Central Dispatch at 435-789-4222.
