The Utah Department of Health announced Friday, September 23rd, that the Food and Drug Administration now recommends booster doses for individuals who originally received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and are 65 years old and older. As a result, TriCounty Health Department will have all COVID-19 vaccines available upon request at the annual Flu Shootout events this October. TriCounty Health will welcome those who would like a Pfizer booster dose to come get vaccinated. They also welcome anyone seeking either their first or second dose of any COVID-19 vaccine to come to the event. “We’re excited to be out in the community with flu shots again this year,” shares TriCounty Health Officer Kirk Benge. “I encourage everyone to get the flu shot each fall. I am also pleased that this year we will have COVID-19 vaccines available at the same time.” Flu Shootout events are being held October 6th and 7th from 4 to 7pm at the Vernal TriCounty Health building, USU Campus in Roosevelt, Manila Clinic, and Duchesne High School.
