Concerns and occasional rumors are common with the local knowledge that there has been a surge of COVID-19 but Duchesne County School District is making it clear where things stand in their District. “Threshold levels have not been reached by any district schools at this time,” shared a Monday announcement. “Duchesne County School District continues to encourage its students, families, and staff members to take action to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes staying home when sick, receiving the vaccine, the voluntary wearing of masks, and practicing personal hygiene (washing hands and using hand sanitizer).” Positive case numbers are monitored and recorded daily and can be checked on www.dcsd.org. The September 27th report showed that the following schools have between 1 and 6 cases in the past 14 days: Altamont Elementary, Altamont High, Centennial Elementary, Duchesne Elementary, Duchesne High, Kings Peak Elementary, Neola Elementary, and Roosevelt Junior High. Union High is the only school higher and it is currently reporting 10 active cases.
