Ashley National Forest is asking for help and it is certainly something that all can do. “Please help us protect those places that are special to you by preventing human-caused fires this Fall,” shares their message. “Please know the current fire restrictions before heading out to enjoy the lands managed by the Ashley National Forest.” There are times when a wildfire starts and there is nothing that could have prevented it. Many wildfires, however, could have been prevented and during drought conditions it becomes especially crucial for all to use extra caution. Additionally, there are not as many local firefighting resources locally due to many local firefighting resources committed to ongoing fires in other states. Remember to do your part with safe practices to prevent human caused wildfires.
