Crews Taking Preventive Measures Around Moon Lake

The East Fork Fire in Duchesne County hasn’t changed much, according to Ashley National Forest. The fire is at 13 percent contained and 2752 acres thanks in part to the relatively higher humidity and some showers in the fire area. Fire management is taking advantage of the situation by having firefighters work around Moon Lake. There are no reported fires there but the assigned crews are prepping the area. Crews are working to reduce heavy vegetation that has grown around the campground and the facilities that are there. With the work that the crews complete it will improve the ability to protect Moon Lake from this or another fire in the future. Now is a great time as there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms late Friday into Saturday
