Progress is being made on the East Fork Fire in Duchesne County. On Wednesday evening, Ashley National Forest reported the fire at 9 percent contained and 2752 acres. The fire has not grown in three days. “Firefighters are working on the southern edge of the fire perimeter, outside of the High Uintas Wilderness, to construct fireline and protect infrastructure,” shares Ashley National Forest. “Wooden bridges crossing Rock Creek have been wrapped in a heavy duty, tinfoil-like material to protect them if the fire reaches them.” Firefighters have also been removing vegetation around campgrounds and properties to the south of the fire in an effort to make the property easier to defend if threatened by fire now or in the future.
