Graduating seniors are ready to celebrate as their secondary school days are coming to an end. Every year a Grad Night after party is offered at Uintah High School and this year over 300 graduates are invited to the alcohol and drug-free alternative.

Highway 40 Widening Project Continues Forward

Construction is moving forward on the Highway 40 widening project between Myton and Roosevelt. The project is set to widen U.S. 40 to five lanes made up of two travel lanes in each direction, a center turn lane, and 10 foot shoulders in each direction.

DWR and KIFX Partner to Incentivize Family Fishing

Local radio station KIFX The Fox has partnered with the Division of Wildlife Resources to incentivize family fishing this summer. The promotion means that over 400 fish will be tagged in Pelican Lake alone while over a hundred more will be tagged in Moose Pond and the lower Stillwater Pier Pond.

Road Closure in Dinosaur National Monument

A road within Dinosaur National Monument is now closed after it was discovered to have washed out around a large culvert. Acting Superintendent Eric Gabriel announced the closure of the Rainbow Park/Island Park Road on Thursday, stating that the Rainbow Park Campground and Boat Ramp are now inaccessible. 

Citizens Urged to Check Home and Property for Valuables

By now everyone knows that the area was hit by a group of local thieves and that at least two of the ringleaders are now behind bars. What many may not have discovered yet is that they are actually among the victims. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, a massive amount of property recovered in the case is still unclaimed and fills an entire room at the Sheriff’s Office.

Breakfast With Santa Tradition a Holiday Staple

Santa is preparing his sleigh for a big trip to attend one of his favorite holiday traditions: the annual Breakfast With Santa event held again this year at the Uintah Middle School in Vernal. The event kicked off 15 years ago as a thank you to the community from Vernal City and the Uintah Recreation District.
