An equipment operator remains hospitalized after sustaining a serious injury while working at the Craig Station last Thursday. According to a statement from Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, the accident took place in the early afternoon when a heavy equipment operator’s leg was injured while working around a train.

New opportunities are in store for hunting deer and elk in Utah in 2018. The Utah Wildlife Board has approved the following. The rifle buck deer hunt will now be split into two hunts – an early season and a regular season hunt. Those who buy a multi-season elk hunting permit can hunt all three seasons on Utah’s spike-only and any-bull general elk hunting units.
They’ve done it again! Naples Elementary is the Region 8 winner of the National Red Ribbon Week photo contest. The school won the award last year as well, an award which comes with cash and some bling for the school.
While there is plenty of support for President Trump’s announcement to reduce the size of the Bear Ears National Monument, the Ute Tribe is not among the supporters. The Ute Tribe announced in a press release dated December 4th that the Tribe “will be filing a lawsuit against President Trump, Secretary Zinke, and others in the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia to hold them accountable for their actions in this matter.”
A local highway patrol Sergeant is doing her part to help homeless Utahns under the Operation Rio Grande umbrella. Sgt. Kellie Oaks has been taking shifts working weekends at Operation Rio Grande which has been underway for several months targeting the problem of homelessness and crime in the Pioneer Park area of downtown Salt Lake City.
