AAA predicts a record-breaking 48.9 million Americans will travel for this Independence Day weekend and safety cannot be understated. After a multi-vehicle collision caused by a drowsy driver sent 3 people to the hospital, the Utah Highway Patrol is asking people to be aware of the signs and effects of driving drowsy.

When dealing with sparklers please remember that it burns at temperatures of about 2,000 degrees fahrenheit, the same as a blow torch, so parents be sure to keep an eye on children. Fire Chief on Safety During Fireworks at Constitution Park

Residents of Roosevelt City can look forward to an eventful 4th of July all taking place at Constitution Park. The day kicks off with the Redmud Run. Registration starts at 9:30am and the race will begin at 11:30am, a later start so residents can still attend Neola’s parade at 10am and be back to enjoy the mud fun.

Puppet Show Coming to the Uintah County Library

As summer hits full stride, the events for the Summer Reading Activity are in full swing as well. This week’s activity is a puppet show put on by the Rocky Mountain Puppet Show entitled Space-A-Cade. The puppeteer is Meghan Casey who completed her Advanced Ventriloquism course at the age of six and has been working and playing with puppets since.

Roosevelt Redmud Run Pushes Start Time to 11:30am to Support Neola Parade

There’s no need to choose between the fun opportunities offered in Duchesne County on the 4th of July. In order to support the Neola parade that starts at 10am, Roosevelt City has pushed back their start time on the Redmud Run from early morning to 11:30am. Neola’s 4th of July Celebration includes a 5K run, co-ed volleyball tournament, the parade followed by a patriotic program, and the rodeo that night at 7pm.
