Tal Ehlers has served as the Uintah County Emergency Manager for nearly 8 ½ years and at the end of this month is moving on to a new opportunity on the Wasatch Front. Three Utah cougar kittens with bright blue eyes recently made an epic journey from the mountains of the High Uintas to a zoo in New York state and the Division of Wildlife Resources is sharing their story in an adorable video. It all started when a concerned citizen recently called the DWR to report finding three cougar kittens alone on the south slope of the Uinta Mountains.

In trying to keep their residents informed and educated Roosevelt City recently explained why the city chip seals the roads. It comes down to two basic needs. First chip sealing is cheaper. It costs $30,000 to $40,000 dollars to chip seal one mile of road in comparison to the $1.4 million dollars it would cost to do one mile of new road.
The flu season usually runs from October through May. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone who is 6 months or older get a flu vaccine every year.

There has been “an increase in ‘robo-calls’ where scammers leave urgent callback requests through the phone telling Moon Lake members to call back to settle their power bill. These fake calls generally claim to be the last warning before your power will be shut off.
The Basin is still recovering from the Dollar Ridge Fire that has left a very literal scar across 68,000 acres of the landscape. One of the lesser known scars is the fact that it severely damaged the Strawberry River fishery.
Construction on Highway 40 in Roosevelt is wrapping up. UDOT shared on Monday that the paving is complete from the west end of Roosevelt, through town on Main Street, and eastward to Gusher. With the project near completion, crews will finish work on manholes, signs, grinding, and striping over the next two weeks.
