Fatal Crash on SR-191

A tragic crash took the life of a Randlett man on Sunday afternoon in Duchesne County. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 1:00pm. “A flatbed pickup truck was traveling southbound on SR-191 near milepost 256 when it approached a curve in the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the pickup rolled down an embankment and came to rest in a river on the passenger side.”

State Employment Report

The state of Utah continues to report a healthy economy on the whole. The latest data from the Department of Workforce Services reports that employment for September grew by 2.9 percent, adding 39,800 jobs to the economy compared to one year ago.

Successful Opening Weekend for Deer Hunt

The opening weekend of the rifle deer hunt was a success with more than 56,000 hunters and their families and friends heading into Utah’s backcountry. Division of Wildlife Resources conservation officers were set up at check stations throughout the state, checking licenses and taking a close look at the deer harvested.

Charges Filed in Beaver Creek Fire

Officials have confirmed that charges have been filed in connection to the Beaver Creek Fire that has been burning in Western Colorado since June. The fire has burned around 60 square miles on the Wyoming/Colorado border.

High School Football Backs the Blue

A feeling of unity dominated a night of rivalry high school football on Wednesday at the Duchesne at Altamont football game. Both teams, cheerleaders, drill teams and Boy Scouts coordinated a special tribute night honoring the deputies of the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office starting with dinner and followed by a halftime recognition show.
