While Vernal has only been a temporary stop for them, Boutique Airlines is being recognized for providing much needed air service to the Vernal area during a time of limbo. The Vernal Area Chamber’s Public Relations Committee has presented Boutique Airlines with an Appreciation Award for their service of providing daily flights to and from Denver and Salt Lake City for the past two years. During a presentation to the UTSSD board in January, airport manager Doug Brown shared that the final enplanements count for 2017 with Boutique Air was an increase of 164 percent from 2016. Enplanements for 2017 was nearly 6,600. The transition from Boutique to Skywest cannot take place until the final phase of construction on the airport runway is complete. It is anticipated that that work will be complete by the end of May and the date for the transition from Boutique to Skywest is scheduled to take place
on June 26th.
